Course level roles can be locally assigned within courses to give users various permissions for different possible actions. Each course will need to be treated separately.
Step 1: Navigate to the applicable course in which you wish to assign a course role.
Step 2: Click on "Enrolled users."
Step 3: If the user to whom you wish to assign a role has not been enrolled in the course yet, click "Enrol users."
Step 4: Search for the user, then enrol them.
Step 5: If the user to whom you wish to assign a role has been enrolled in the course, find that user in the list of enrolled users. In the "Roles" column next to that user's name, select edit and choose a role from the drop-down list.
Step 6: Once selected, be sure to click on on the save icon. The user will now be able perform the actions permitted by their course role.
