How to Convert PDF / Word Documents to Pages

Overview

This guide will assist you in converting PDF and Word documents into Pages on your LMS. Converting PDF and Word documents into pages within an LMS involves transforming static files into accessible content that can be seamlessly integrated into the LMS platform.

Here are some benefits of the process: 

Add a Page to Your Course

Step 1: In the relevant course, click on "Edit course material."

Step 2: Under the relevant module, click on "Add course content."

Step 3: Select the "Page" activity.

Add Content to Your Page

Step 1: Open your PDF or Word document and highlight and copy only the text portion of your page.

Step 2: Return to your LMS page.

Note: Ensure that you paste the text as TEXT ONLY or MATCH TEXT to avoid bringing in the external formatting.

To copy and paste as "text only or match text":

Step 3: To upload your image(s), click to select the area on your page where you wish to insert your image(s).

Step 4: Then select the image icon.

Step 5: Follow these steps for uploading/adding an image to the page:

  1. Browse repositories and upload your image (you may need to have this image saved separately first).
  2. Tick "This image is decorative only."
  3. Size your image.

Step 6: Click on "Save image."

Step 7: You can now edit and format your content to suit your preferences.

Step 8: Additionally, you can define the settings of your Page activity.

Step 9: Once you are happy, you can click on "Save and Display" to see your page.

Note: Please note that this process may be a little time consuming depending on the amount of information you would like to convert into pages.

Note: If you are looking for a quick and easy way to upload your manuals or content, you can always upload them as files. At this point in time, you cannot paste images into pages, they need to be uploaded. PlutoLMS is working on improving this process and will update you as progress is made.

Employee Handbook and Policies

In a company's LMS, the HR department wants to provide employees with easy access to the employee handbook and various company policies. Instead of simply uploading the PDF versions of these document, they decide to covert them into pages within the LMS.

By converting the employee handbook and policies into pages within the LMS, HR can offer employees a more accessible, interactive, and user-friendly experience. It simplifies content access and improves navigation, while allowing for real-time updates, and provides valuable insights through analytics and tracking capabilities.
