PlutoLMS does not have a native file download prevention tool, however, you can use a 3rd Party tool such as Google Drive to prevent files from being downloadable. You can then embed the share code into your course for students to view your files (but not download them).

Step 1: Right-click on the file you wish to upload, then select "Share."
OR, Go into the document, Click on 'File' (top left) > Hover over 'Share' > 'Share with others'
Step 2: Click on the gear icon.
Step 3: Ensure that you untick the option shown below. Then click the back arrow icon.
Step 4: Ensure that you set your link to be shareable with (1) 'Anyone with the link', and (2) then copy the link.
Step 5: Add this link to your course and set the display settings to either "pop-up" or "new window."
Step 6: Click 'Save and display' and your file should then 'Pop-up' as a window on the screen when clicking on the link (as per the display chosen).
*Note: When opening the Google Drive File link, ensure that the download option is off as been below.
